「2024年英文旅遊部落格競賽」得獎名單暨後記
配合國立東華大學教學卓越中心辦理「113-1三創教學課程」，語言中心楊宗樺老師規劃與主辦「2024年英文旅遊部落格競賽：東華校園觀光之旅」。2024年四月初的地震重創花蓮，東華校園也遭受波及，課程改為以線上進行為主，歷經數月的修復，學子陸續重返校園就讀。藉由此次英文旅遊部落格競賽，以「東華校園觀光之旅」為題，一方面作為於英美語文學系開設「英文作文（一）（上）」補助課程的延伸活動，另一方面，亦藉此邀請學子重新探訪東華校園，以英文記錄觀察校園之人文自然景觀，同時也向國外旅客展示東華校園的獨特之處，吸引前來參訪。
本次競賽由24件參賽作品中，經評審初審與複審後，決選出冠軍1名、亞軍2名、季軍2名與佳作2名，於2024年12月26日在語言中心前進行頒獎。參賽者裡不僅有大學部學生，也有碩士生參與，且其中除了臺灣學生以外，亦不乏有國際生參加，包括來自印尼、印度、貝里斯與馬來西亞的學生，參賽者不同的文化背景，反映出東華校園的多元性與國際化。
透過本競賽，主辦者楊老師期許同學能持續創作英文部落格文章，練習以英文紀錄日常生活點滴與表達自己的想法。

[Event] Winners Announcement and Postscript for the “2024 English Travel Blog Competition”
In collaboration with the Center for Teaching Excellence of National Dong Hwa University (NDHU), Assistant Professor Tsung-hua Yang from the Language Center joined the “113-1 Triple Creativity Curriculum” program. As part of this initiative, he planned and hosted the “2024 English Travel Blog Competition: NDHU Campus Tour.” In early April 2024, a major earthquake struck Hualien, severely impacting the NDHU campus. Most classes moved online. After several months of restoration, students have gradually returned to campus for in-person learning. This English travel blog competition, themed “Dong Hwa Campus Tour,” serves as an extension activity for the subsidized course “English Composition (I)” offered by the Department of English. This event also invites students to re-explore the campus, documenting the cultural and natural scenery in English. This initiative also aims to attract international visitors by showcasing the unique aspects of the Dong Hwa campus.
From the 24 entries in the competition, after initial and secondary evaluations by the judges, one first prize, two second prize, two third prize, and two superior prize winners were selected. The award ceremony took place in front of the Language Center on December 26, 2024. Among the participants were not only undergraduate students but also master’s students. In addition to Taiwanese students, international students took part in the competition, including those from Belize, India, Indonesia, and Malaysia. The diverse cultural backgrounds of the participants reflect the multiculturalism and internationalization of Dong Hwa campus.
Through this competition, the organizer, Professor Yang, hopes that students will continue creating English blog posts, practicing documenting their daily lives and expressing their thoughts in English.
