【Job Opening】Full-Time Teaching Position in the Language Center, National Dong Hwa University

The Language Center at National Dong Hwa University (Hualien, Taiwan) is inviting applications for one position at the rank of ASSISTANT PROFESSOR or higher in the following areas of specialization: English as a Second Language (ESL), English for Academic Purposes (EAP), English for Specific Purposes (ESP), Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL), English Linguistics or Applied Linguistics, English Literature, Science and Engineering, or Management.

Starting Date

        February 1, 2023 (Spring Semester, Academic Year 2022/2023)

Qualifications

  1. PhD in ESL, EAP, ESP, TESOL, English Linguistics or Applied Linguistics, English Literature, Science and Engineering, Management, or other related fields from a higher education institution recognized by the Ministry of Education of Taiwan, or
  2. Native speakers of English with a doctoral degree and experience in EMI (English Medium Instruction) teaching
  3. This position is granted by the Ministry of Education for the Program on Bilingual Education for Students in College. According to the regulations, an applicant of this position shall not be a current full-time teacher or researcher within the staffing complement of a public/private college or an academic research institution in Taiwan.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Teach General English, EAP, and ESP courses and conduct researches in related areas
  2. Assist in promoting the Bilingual Education Program and EMI teaching and curricular planning
  3. Assist in organizing and promoting language learning activities of the Language Center
  4. Serve concurrent administrative positions and do related administrative works

Salary

  1. The statutory monthly salary for a full-time assistant professor is from NT$73,640 to NT$93,990. Please also refer to the Salary Scale for Faculty Members in Public Tertiary Education Institutions (公立大專教師薪資明細表).
  2. The additional salary includes allowances, health insurance, an annual bonus, and so on.

  4. Doctoral dissertation and research publications in the past 3 years
